Newry U13 Continue Winning Streak at Queens.

Newry U13 had their third game of the season last week, and after the win against Derry they were all fired up to take on against Queens.
Coach Peter Clarke was ready for a tough game. Queens are a well drilled team from a much larger club but the Newry boys had been practicing hard and were ready.
Once again it was Captain Aaron Miller leading the charge. He had a commanding game from the top of the quay, showing experience beyond his years. His passing was instrumental in setting up many of the key baskets in the game and he wasn't afraid to shoot himself when he lost his defender with his shake-n-bake move.
The McMillan Brothers (Shay and Gareth) worked hard in the second quarter moving quickly up and down the floor. This made all the difference as Newry ended the first half up, by 3 points 19-16.

In the second half, the young Newry team looked every bit the solid outfit. All the players worked together to produce a solid man to man defence, leaving little or no space for queens to break through. Michael Clarke worked hard again, managing to get a block with some crucial stops and a bloody lip for his trouble. Lloyd Clarke and Rowan Lewis put plenty of pressure on the guards to keep the Queens team to 4 points in the 3rd Quarter
The second half saw a big return from Conor "Barkley" Yendall. He's been quiet for the first 2 games but this time he cleaned up under the boards with some very strong rebounding.  Eoin McStay and Matthew Fegan continued their good form with 2 points each and  Ross McQuillen made his first appearance on the scoresheet with a shot from the foul line, after drawing the foul from the slower Queens defender.

Queens rallied late in the game and the lead changed hands 4 times in the final quarter, but it was Aaron Miller who put the nail in the coffin and led Newry to their second win in the Three games.Final Score was 27-26
