Newry too good for Bangor

Newry Oaks 69 - 59 Bangor Mariners
Newry Oaks continued their winning ways with an impressive victory over Bangor Mariners. Newry started well with Paul Crawley and Nigel Murphy helping the Oaks into a 9 point lead at the end of the first quarter. It was more of the same in the second with young guns Scott Rafferty and Johnny Toner keeping the pressure on. Good defence and some slick scores helped Newry to a 37 - 23 half time lead.

The second half was much of the same with Anthony Green showing well on offence and Peter O'Neill directing the defence. Newry were up 50 - 33 going in to the final quarter.
Bangor staged a stirring come back in the last quarter and at one stage were just 4 points behind, but some assured play from Newry and some important baskets by Rory O'Keeffe helped Newry stave off the challenge and win comfortably by 10.
