Newry fell to their third defeat of the year in an intense low scoring game at home. Newry started the brighter of the two teams and behind the always reliable Paul Crawley and Anthony Green, they lead at the end of the first quarter 16 - 11.

Team Belfast stormed back in the second quarter and despite some good scores from Paul Convery, Newry went in at half time 3 points down.

Newry had the better of the third quarter and with Nigel Murphy providing the scoring and some good team defense Newry got back in front 35 - 33.

The final quarter was hard fought with both teams really stepping up their game. Unfortunately, despite some good scores from Rory O'Keeffe and Peter O'Neill, Newry were unable to hold on to their lead, going down by 5 at the end.
