Newry Basketball Club

Newry played host to Andersontown Tigers on Saturday morning.
Although supposedly one of the weaker teams, the earlier meeting in the season proved to be a close game and at a couple of points The tigers gave Newry quite a scare.
Tigers had also recently scored a couple of victories against some of the stronger teams in the league and Newry didn't intend to give them another scalp.

Newry played host to Ballymena Blackstone last Saturday, and put on an great show.
Ballymena historically have a very tough team and are never afraid to press on both offence and defence. Games between the two sides have always been close exciting competitions, so there was plenty to live up to.

Only two weeks from their first meeting this season Newry Fliers faced Downpatrick Vikings again. This time with home court advantage coach Paul Crawley hoped that his young side would play the game to their strengths using their speed and run the Vikings off the bigger home court.

The second half of December was a busy month for the Newry U14 Squad, with 3 games in the 2 weeks running up to Christmas. First was a trip to take on the Andersontown tigers in Belfast followed by a double header against Letterkenny Blaze A and B the week before Christmas.
